Mauritius, Honorable Ambassador Dr. Pierre Vatel has established himself as a distinguished global figure, recognized for his tireless contributions to diplomacy, humanitarian work, international development, and community empowerment.

Born in 1955 and a descendant of François Vatel, the legendary master of ceremonies to Prince Louis II de Bourbon-Condé, Dr. Vatel has carried forward a remarkable legacy of leadership, vision, and service.

He holds the title of Senatus Consultum “Conscriptus Electus”, and has been conferred an Honorary Doctor of Sciences (H.C.) by Crown University International Chartered Inc., USA. His vast portfolio of responsibilities includes serving as Honorary President of UNaccc in Mauritius, Ambassador-at-Large for NUFP–Global Peace, Goodwill Ambassador in Mauritius for the Eurasia Afro Chamber of Commerce, and Foreign Affairs and International Coordination Representative for Doninu Malta International.

With a strong academic foundation in Economics and Social Sciences and a specialization in Construction Economics, Dr. Vatel began his career in West Africa, where he gained expertise in financing and executing major infrastructure projects in construction, public works, and civil engineering. Upon returning to France, he devoted 25 years to home renovation and improvement, and as an Economist at the General Council of Yvelines, managed investment and operating budgets exceeding €20 million.

Relocating to Mauritius in 2006, Dr. Vatel pioneered the introduction of fitted kitchens and contributed to prestigious luxury developments such as Waterside-Ocean Drive, Kensington Palm, Black Rock, and Komaneka. He also served as Vice-President of the Smart Habitat and Construction Club, empowering small contractors to participate in large-scale projects and secure financing.
