Hope Holds: India-Pakistan Ceasefire to Continue, Says Army Official

Hope for Peace Lives On India-Pakistan Ceasefire to Continue

In a welcome message of calm for families along the tense borders, an Indian Army official confirmed on Sunday that the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, reached on May 12, remains firmly in place—with no deadline in sight.

Reassuring those concerned that the break in hostilities might be short-lived, the official said, “There’s no expiry date to peace. The pause in hostilities, as decided during the recent interaction of the DGMOs (Director General of Military Operations), continues.”

The statement offers a ray of hope to border residents who’ve long lived under the constant threat of shelling and crossfire. Though tensions have cooled, the memory of past conflicts still looms. For now, though, there’s room for cautious optimism.

The official also clarified that there were no scheduled talks between the DGMOs of both nations on Sunday, but stressed that the silence on the ground speaks louder than words.

As the sun sets over the Line of Control tonight, families on both sides can rest a little easier—hoping that this quiet will last, and that peace, however fragile, has a chance to take root.
