KUALA LUMPUR: The vessels of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) are now on full alert following a surge in drone activity over their route in the Mediterranean Sea.
In an update on social media, Sumud Nusantara highlighted that the growing drone presence is just one of the many escalating threats faced by those on board this courageous humanitarian mission.
“The flotilla vessels have entered a high-risk zone, an area where previous missions were either intercepted or attacked. Multiple early reports suggest that various potential scenarios could unfold in the coming hours,” said the statement.
GSF also confirmed through Instagram that their vessels are now less than 145 nautical miles from Gaza.
“As we sail closer, our vigilance heightens. This is the same area where many earlier humanitarian flotillas were blocked or struck. Still, we remain undeterred,” the post added.
“Keep your eyes on the mission. Keep your eyes on Gaza. We sail on, refusing to be silenced by Israeli threats or intimidation.”
This bold journey is more than just a voyage—it is a statement of solidarity, carrying food, medicine, and an unwavering message of peace. The mission calls for the end of war, famine, and injustice, and urges the immediate opening of a humanitarian corridor to Gaza.
Among the activists onboard are 34 proud Malaysians, joining hands with individuals from 45 countries—all unified by a shared vision of justice and human dignity. Despite drone threats, diplomatic hurdles, and a volatile sea, their determination remains unshaken.
Because this isn’t just news—it’s humanity in motion.
Every mile they sail brings the world closer to compassion, unity, and hope.
Let us not just watch from the sidelines—let us amplify their voices.
