KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 – As Kuala Lumpur gears up to host the prestigious 12th ASEAN Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting (AFMGM), the city’s police force isn’t just focusing on security — they’re ensuring every guest experiences Malaysia at its best.
From the iconic Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) to the luxurious Mandarin Oriental and Grand Hyatt hotels, the city’s pulse is picking up. Behind the scenes, over 300 dedicated officers and personnel — led by KL police chief Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa — have been working tirelessly to prepare the city for this important international gathering.
“We’re not just providing security — we’re offering assurance,” said Rusdi with a sense of calm confidence. “Every officer has a role, from managing traffic to escorting delegates. We want our guests to feel safe, welcomed, and respected.”
This effort isn’t just confined to KLCC. Mobile police units are patrolling surrounding areas, while coordination with Selangor police ensures smooth arrivals and departures at KLIA and Subang Airport. The goal is simple: ensure the event runs flawlessly, and that every visitor leaves with good memories of Malaysian warmth and professionalism.
In the weeks leading up to the event, Rusdi chaired a key security briefing involving the Finance Ministry, Bukit Aman, and venue representatives. “This isn’t just a routine meeting — it’s a chance for Malaysia to show the world how we do things: with unity, discipline, and heart.”
With more than 300 influential delegates expected — from finance ministers and central bank chiefs to international economic leaders and business councils — this four-day event is more than meetings and panels. It’s a moment for Malaysia to shine on the global stage.
And thanks to the heartfelt efforts of our police force, the city is ready.
