On August 10, 2024, Choudry Farooq Ahmad Bajad, President of the Jammu and Kashmir chapter of the Dabastan E-India Gujjar And Bakerwal Foundation, engaged in a pivotal meeting with Mr. Javid Ahmad Matoo, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of South Kashmir.
In their discussion, Choudry Farooq Ahmad Bajad highlighted several urgent issues impacting the Gujjar and Bakerwal communities. These concerns included unresolved criminal cases, pending FIRs against community members, rising unemployment among the youth, the hardships faced by disabled individuals, the persistent issue of child labor, and the alarming increase in drug trafficking.
DIG Javid Ahmad Matoo responded with a firm commitment to addressing these concerns, assuring Mr. Bajad that the police force is already taking steps to tackle these problems and will redouble their efforts to ensure justice and security for the community.
